Chanukah Party

Come together for an evening of games, music, and activities in celebration of Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights.  Sample potato latkes and learn the dreidel game as you immerse yourself in the diversity of Jewish culture and identity.

Chanukah commemorates the miraculous events and heroic deeds that occurred in ancient Israel during a desperate war for Jewish religious and political freedom. The eight-day festival is observed this year beginning at sundown on Wednesday, December 25 and concluding at sundown on Thursday, January 2, 2025.  The event is coordinated by the Opelousas Museum curator Aglaia Venters who is a member of Temple Shalom in Lafayette.
